Hanmer Springs

Hanmer Springs is a unique alpine village 90 minutes drive north of Christchurch.

A year round holiday destination offering a variety of outdoor activities, shops, coffee bars and restaurants and cafés supplying a wide range of food.

At 380 metres above sea level, this gorgeous Alpine Village is often blanketed with snow in winter, transforming the village into a winter wonderland.

Hanmer Springs is a beautiful place no matter what the season - autumn offers a myriad of colours, spring has soft blossoms and an avenue of daffodils and oaks, summer greens are cooling to the otherwise warm weather.

The township of Hanmer Springs is designed to be an alpine retreat and most of the house designs reflect this. Hanmer Springs is also a favourite travel spot for the adventure tourist. Jet boating, skiing, golfing, kayaking and bungy jumping activities are all close at hand. Or you can take a tour through the historical Molesworth Station.

Just up the road a little is the Waipara Wine Valley which has also proven itself to be a popular activity.
